On Tuesday, Aqua Squad dove into the Sea Port Museum in Philadelphia where we learned about our history in water and Philadelphia`s history. We saw how our ancestors shaped the future for us and how we have all ready started shaping the future for more generations. Super Sight: We saw the evolution of deep sea diving...so cool!
The Mudder Museum tells you about the earliest methods of medication and treatment. We got see real and wax visuals of diseases of all sorts from the brain to the heart. I was most interested in the brain room that showed all of the early brain diseases that were left untreated. There was a Giant 7.8ft man that suffered for gigantism and a Dwarf only 3.5ft tall. There was a hall with different babies and premature babies with birth defects from a conjoined twin to having a nose on your forehead! The Mudder Museum was an amazing place and would be a great place to visit for people who want to be a doctor or like me want to be a neurosurgeon!!
Aqua Squad has made the biggest impact on my life ever. I have learned so much from why boats are built the way they are to what aquatic acidification is. By far, one of my favorite things that I learned over the past couple of weeks is the elequa water filtration prototype. The prototype is a system that anyone can use. Here's a link to what elequa is all about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gglP7nR0zno . It had to be my favorite thing that we did over the last 4 weeks besides going to Philadelphia of course. -Lilli
The Bartram gardens were built by a guy named John with his love
for plants. He collected plants from all over the world. He had a partner in England that they would send letters over seas and would trade plants as well. His son was put into business, but failed and followed his passion as an artist. Today, Aqua Squad went to The Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. We got to see blue tangs (aka Dory), sting rays, penguins, and even hippos. After a full day at the aquarium, we tie it all together with delicious food from Dim Sum Garden. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the China Town area of Philadelphia.
Today in Philly, we had lots of fun! We started the day off at the Franklin Institute where we were able to get an inside look at the Pixar creations and got to learn how all the Pixar movies are assembled . Next, we went to the Sir Isacc exhibit where we got to be educated on physics using hands on activities. Then of course , we ate a wonderful lunch there 👍🏼. Next , we were able to meet up with Project Flow , who's also a group of water ambassadors who help educate the public about water issues in their area and beyond. Lastly, we went to the Mütter Museum. It was an amazing experience although it was a little creepy, it was still really awesome! We got to see real body parts and observe Albert Einstein's brain! It was such a beautiful experience to learn about all these cool things today😊. |
